The College of Science is Purdue’s second largest unit by enrollment, number of faculty, and research expenditures. The College has been expanding across all its seven academic departments and its 30 majors. Science is also central to most of the signature strategic focus areas of campus leadership, and is expanding its operational footprint to the Indianapolis location. There is a lot going on. We are looking for creative and energetic staff members to join our administrative team to help us press toward our goals of broadening our external engagement and industry partnerships. Education and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computational science, life science, physical science, or business
- At least eight (8) years of combined experience of:
- administrative and leadership roles in an organization with responsibilities for strategic planning, decision-making, and relationship building
- working in corporate relations, industry affairs, or government relations
- high-level presentations and verbal and written communication including electronic media
- coordinating with a variety of groups such as faculty and industry personnel
- working independently and collaboratively
- Experience working diplomatically with corporate c-suite or university leadership
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in a computational science, life science, physical science, or business
- Experience collaborating with academic and industry professionals
- Broad experience or knowledge across computational, life scientific, or physical science disciplines
- Building a collaborative teams
Skills Needed:
- Broad experience or knowledge in any scientific discipline
- Demonstrated ability to:
- develop and manage industry partnerships
- develop and execute marketing strategies
- analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to organizational and funding agencies policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks, and complete projects
- Strong communication skills to develop clear proposals, inform management and relay information to cross functional teams
- Demonstrated excellence in:
- collaboration, team building, and relationship development and maintenance experience high-level presentations and verbal and written communication including electronic media
