Purdue University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, in-residence lecturer position in Anthropology at our main campus in West Lafayette, IN, starting August 2025. This role is dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a focus on delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate courses. The position entails teaching 4 undergraduate courses each semester, with a possibility for teaching multiple sections of one or more of the courses. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in medical or biocultural anthropology, health and gender.
Our current teaching needs include introduction to four field anthropology (Anth 100), introduction to cultural anthropology (Anth 205), Culture, Food and Health (Anth 212), Global Health (Anth 340), and Gender Across Cultures (Anth 230) with others as needed. Courses will be assigned based on department needs and may include hybrid or online classes in addition to in-person lectures. This non-tenure track AY staff position includes a path for promotion and a fringe benefits package. In addition to teaching, the lecturer will be expected to participate in the life of the department and contribute to departmental strategic goals, such as UG student recruitment, advising, and community engagement.
