The SCALE Work Experiences Program Lead will coordinate relationships with 65 government and industry partners for the Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement (SCALE) program, a major microelectronics (ME) workforce development program funded by the Department of Defense. SCALE enhances U.S. competitiveness and national security through a nationally coordinated and innovative approach to developing the next generation microelectronics workforce. This position identifies internship, post-graduate employment, and project opportunities within the US defense microelectronics sector and shares them with ~800 current SCALE students and ~100 faculty across 30 universities. Moreover, the Program Lead champions differentiated students for defense ME by : (1) developing an extensive network within SCALE's govt / industry partner base, maintained via 1 : 1, working group, and conference settings; (2) ensuring suitable number and mix of work experiences are available to SCALE students; (3) identifying work experience improvements from employer and student feedback; (4) serviing as a voice of employers to SCALE faculty regarding student knowledge / skills / abilities (KSA) needs; (5) establishing engagement and funding paths for partners with SCALE students; and (6) leveraging data analytics to understand workforce demands and improve student placement rates, regional distributions, and partner performance.
The position interacts closely with SCALE leadership, evaluation teams, technical leads and faculty at consortium universities, a wide range of personnel at government and industry partners, and SCALE students. The cussessful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders on a timely basis, both 1 : 1 and in steering committee settings.
What We're Looking For :
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Science, or Technology
- Six or more years of professional or academic work experience in one or more of the following fields : science, engineering, project management, and / or human resources
- Proven experience developing and implementing programs involving industrial or government employer relationships, student / workforce development, and recruiting / talent management.
- High degree of initiative and self-sufficiency, with ability to work independently to produce results
- Sufficient domain knowledge to understand and communicate constructively with domain experts in engineering and / or science as well as with faculty, students and defense program partners
- Effective presentation, communication, collaboration and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and effectively manage interactions with multiple, competing and at times conflicting stakeholders
