Hours Per Pay Period: 70 - 80 hours per week

Schedule: Second Shift: 4pm-2am. Two week rotation. One week Sun/Mon/Fri/Sat and the next week is Tues-Friday.

Weekend Shift Desire and Availability: Required

Pay: $16/hr.

Job Description: Pure Green Farms is currently seeking a Full Time, Second Shift Greenhouse/Machine Operator Team Member who is responsible for operating automated seeding and planting machinery and mechanical processes necessary to initiate and support the growth cycle of our leafy green lettuce.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate, control and monitor settings of automated process machinery and associated computer software programs that initiate the sow/seeding growth cycle
• Must be the eye in the sky for the production team by identifying potential issues on the computer and communicate this to the team continuously throughout the day
• Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions, adjusting when necessary to improve performance
• Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
• Ensure different seed/crop varieties are assigned to their correct planting location
• Maintains appropriate moisture levels of growing medium
• Perform quality control, follow reporting and record keeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
• Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area; maintain a sanitary environment by applying sanitizers at a concentration recommended by the manufacturer.
• Conduct and support basic preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure all growing spaces are swept, and kept clean and sanitized at all times for inspection for food safety.
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must have manual dexterity and ability to operate process machinery and maintain repetitive processes
• Must remain flexible in schedule and pick up shifts when others are sick or need PTO. We are a tight nit team and take care of each other in this way
• Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter
• Self-motivated, reliable, punctual, open-minded, and positive attitude a must
• Occasional forklift operation may be required
• Learning and following all food safety and quality policies and procedures
• Ability to make critical decisions quickly and repeatedly
• Ability to adapt and to be responsive in the face of changing and evolving order demands
• Ability to make changes as needed without advance notice
• Former experience in garden, greenhouse, or agricultural setting a plus

Working Conditions:

• Position requires standing and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Education/Experience:

• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience, not mandatory but preferred
• Passion for horticulture and agriculture and a passion for maintaining safe and pristine natural growing environments
• Forklift, tractor, or farm equipment operator experience/training is a plus
• Former experience in garden, greenhouse or agricultural settings a plus

Experience:

• Manufacturing Machinery: 1 year (Preferred)

• 10 hour shift
• 4x10
• Evening shift
• Night shift
