Position Title: IT Manager
Location: Romeo, MI
Position Overview
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the IT helpdesk, managing a small team of helpdesk resources, and ensuring the stability and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in network equipment (routers and switches), Microsoft technologies (including Outlook and Active Directory), and experience interfacing with third-party vendors for software integration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor helpdesk staff, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical support requests.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers and switches, to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Oversee the administration of Microsoft environments, including the Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Active Directory.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies within Active Directory
- Interface with third-party vendors to coordinate, implement, and manage software integrations and updates.
- Analyze current IT systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices to support business objectives.
- Monitor system performance, conduct routine system audits, and ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on IT systems and security protocols.
- Prepare reports on IT operations, incidents, and vendor performance for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing IT helpdesk or support teams
- Strong technical knowledge of routers, switches, and network troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Active Directory administration
- Experience managing software integrations and working with third-party vendors
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate).
- Experience with IT budgeting and vendor contract management
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and compliance standards
