Job Summary Description
The Metal Fabricator is responsible for creating metal structures and products by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal using tools such as welders, saws, and grinders. Successful Metal Fabricators partner with company operations teams & business unit members to accurately in accordance with company goals and strategies.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Execute welding, fitting, and fabrication operations on utilizing equipment on various materials including carbon, stainless steel, and other metals.
- Contribute ideas and lead the implementation of initiatives to improve efficiency and grow our precision capabilities
- Able to perform grinding, sanding, painting, and any other mechanical duties assigned by the shop or structural foreman.
- Able to follow directions of welders to assist in the manufacturing process.
- Manually move pipe in and out of weld machinery.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Performs job duties within guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for that function.
- Previous welding experience preferred
- Proficient in various welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues
- Valid state issued driver’s license
- Travel may be required
