PurLife is seeking a detail-oriented Genetics Specialist to support our cannabis production at our grow facility in Uxbridge, MA.
This individual must be experienced in fast-paced environments with strict deadlines and have a strong emphasis on results-driven work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track the progression of 100 distinct varieties throughout the growth cycle, ensuring timely collection of performance data.
- Collect and enter performance data, validate metrics, and analyze results.
- Assist the production team in planning the management of production varieties to ensure consistency while maintaining all varieties.
- Support the introduction and scale-up of new varieties.
- Complete repetitive tasks with high attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Collaborate with other cultivation leads and associates on climate, irrigation, growing techniques, labor savings, and production trials.
- Monitor harvest operations and ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
- Work closely with cross-functional cultivation and production departments.
- Continuously observe crops and equipment under the direction of the leadership team.
- Maintain proper calibration and upkeep of greenhouse equipment.
- Communicate effectively about plants, machines, and activities within the cultivation function.
- Identify hazards, report incidents, and maintain job-related confidentiality.
- Attend regular meetings and maintain punctuality.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid photo ID required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and pass a comprehensive state and federal background check.
- Reliable transportation necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an MTC Agent Card.
- Training provided for common grow room processes and equipment.
- Professional behavior and respect towards colleagues and management.
- Basic math skills and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Flexibility and adaptability in evolving situations.
- Hand dexterity and ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Reading, interpreting, and adhering to documents such as standard operating procedures and employee policies.
- Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, working in seated/standing positions, and wearing PPE in various conditions.
- Ability to work in a greenhouse environment with inclement weather for up to 8 hours.
