Purpose Built Schools Atlanta seeks a creative and forward-thinking K-12 STEAM Instructional Coach to drive interdisciplinary learning and STEAM integration across all grade levels. This person will report to the campus principal and provide targeted support to teachers, facilitate professional development, model effective teaching strategies, and use data to drive instructional decisions.

Purpose Built Schools , in partnership with Atlanta Public Schools (APS), operates three neighborhood schools in South Atlanta: Slater Elementary School (PreK-5), Price Middle School (6-8) and Carver STEAM Academy (9-12). As a network of partner schools , we have the flexibility and autonomy similar to charter schools, but remain true neighborhood schools that serve every student in our attendance zone.

Coaching & Professional Development (50%)
- Conduct classroom observations and provide personalized, constructive, and actionable feedback on STEAM integration, computational thinking, and inquiry based learning.
- Model best practices in project based learning, engineering design process, including differentiated instruction and the integration of technology across K-12 STEAM subjects.
- Plan and facilitate professional development sessions focused on STEAM content knowledge, pedagogy, cross-functional connections, and instructional strategies.
- Identify and recommend STEAM resources, digital tools, and makerspace materials to support instruction and classroom practices.
- Assist teachers in designing and implementing rigorous, engaging interdisciplinary STEAM lesson plans aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence for K-12 grades.
- Foster a positive culture of collaboration and continuous improvement by promoting respect, inclusion, and academic excellence.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of instructional STEAM interventions that support K-12 learners and adjust strategies as needed, focusing on accelerating achievement for below grade level learners through project-based learning.
- Ensure alignment of instructional practices with district and Georgia Standards of Excellence in STEAM.
- Assist in the development and refinement of STEAM curriculum and instructional materials that incorporate differentiated pathways and remedial skill-building opportunities.
- Stay up to date with relevant STEAM/STEM instructional policies and practices to train instructional staff, including acceleration strategies for struggling learners, while supporting K-12 teachers with curriculum modification.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement data-driven action plans.
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding instructional goals, progress, and needs.

- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education , Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
- Active Georgia Teaching license (T4 or higher with one or more endorsements in Science, Technology, or Mathematics ) , either in GA or able to be transferred to GA within year one of the role.
- Preferred: Leadership Certificate L5-L7.
- Minimum of 3 years of urban education experience in a related subject with an established track record of student achievement in areas like robotics, coding, engineering design, scientific inquiry, and project based learning.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Experience implementing differentiated K-12 STEAM frameworks to support diverse learning needs and multiple entry points for concept mastery.
- Proven success using STEAM integration to boost academic performance for underperforming students.
- Knowledge of STEAM curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment frameworks across K-12 grade levels.
- Experience designing and leading STEAM professional learning programs, focused on differentiation strategies and intervention support.
- Experience implementing K-12 STEAM programs (makerspaces, labs, robotics) that demonstrate academic growth for K-12 students on or below grade level.
- Preferred: Experience in instructional coaching or leadership roles.
