*We are currently seeking a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) for field work in the Kern County area!

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or general equivalency diploma required
- Certification from a recognized home health aide program or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in health administration, medical assisting, nursing, psychology, or a related field
- Comfortable providing medical care in close physical proximity to patients
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Empathy for the hardship experienced by the patient and the patient’s family
- Ability to maintain composure with patients who present challenging behavior
- Home Health experience a plus
- Must have a CA Driver's License with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements and is in good working order
- Physical Examination (within the last 1 year)
- PPD Test/ TB Gold test (within the last year) or Chest X-Ray (within the last 2 years)
- CPR/BLS Certificate
- Have satisfactory references from previous (or current) employers and professional peers.
- Have excellent observation, good clinical judgment, and good oral and written communication skills.
Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Job Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Performing personal care needs after given a patient's assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
- Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2)
- Giving personal care including baths, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed linen as often as assigned.
- Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
- Assisting in feeding the patient as assigned.
- Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency.
- Reporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals living with the patient and interpersonal issues.
- Assisting in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
- Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency.
- Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as assigned.
- Adhering to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
- Respectful of patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs.
