The Role
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering function, ensuring product and process innovation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency. This role will oversee the development of robust manufacturing systems, drive process optimization, and support new product introductions. The Director of Engineering will work cross-functionally to align engineering initiatives with business goals while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

The Role
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the engineering function, ensuring product and process innovation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency. This role will oversee the development of robust manufacturing systems, drive process optimization, and support new product introductions. The Director of Engineering will work cross-functionally to align engineering initiatives with business goals while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
What You Will Do
- Lead equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to enhance production efficiency.
- Oversee new product introductions, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing operations.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and production output.
- Develop a world class maintenance program that focuses on preventative and predictive strategies.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Provide technical leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation.
- Develop engineering design standards and work with suppliers to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and operations teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions to support growth and operational excellence.
- Develop and mentor engineering talent to build a high-performance team.
- Ensure department is operating within approved budget requirements.

- 10–15 years of experience in engineering leadership roles within the CPG or manufacturing industry.
- A strong background in Lean Six Sigma, especially with the Early Equipment Management pillar of Total Productive Maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in process improvement, automation, and new product development.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop solutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing engineering projects from concept to execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project or Monday.com.
