The Company has embarked on a multi-year growth plan, with M&A as a key focus area for growth. The Corporate Development team works directly with senior leadership and its private equity owners to help shape the Company’s overall growth strategy, execute acquisitions and identify new acquisition opportunities. This new role is being created to support the Company’s continued growth.
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven M&A Manager to join our dynamic team. This role, reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Development, is ideal for professionals with deal experience who are looking to contribute to the strategic growth of the Company through mergers & acquisitions (M&A), partnerships and other high-impact initiatives.
Purpose/Summary:
The Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) position is responsible for M&A execution, financial analysis and valuation, market research, strategic analysis, and deal sourcing and origination in driving the company’s strategic growth initiatives, including mergers & acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate development activities.
Core Duties & Responsibilites:
- Supports the identification, evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities; helps manage the deal process from end-to-end
- Develops and maintains complex financial models and valuation analyses for potential acquisitions and partnerships; provides detailed financial and strategic analysis to support decision-making
- Conducts market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape and growth opportunities; provides insights on industry trends, growth opportunities and potential risks
- Works closely with internal teams and external advisors (lawyers, accountants, consultants), to facilitate and lead the transaction process.
- Helps drive deal sourcing by evaluating new opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives; cultivates relationships with external advisors, including investment banks, private equity firms, and other financial intermediaries
- Prepares and presents detailed reports and presentations to senior leaders; ensures that key stakeholders are kept informed and aligned throughout the transaction process
- Partners with other internal teams, including finance, legal and operations to ensure alignment and smooth execution of corporate development initiatives
- Provides mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring high-quality and timely work and professional development; takes an active role in developing and maintaining a high-performing corporate development team
- Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field;
MBA or CFA designation preferred.
- Six (6) years related experience in M&As and financial analysis (investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting, or a similar corporate development related field)
Knowledge, Skill & Ability:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and valuation
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, and financial statement analysis
- Expertise in preparing presentations and strategic reports for senior leadership (PowerPoint)
- Advanced working knowledge with market research tools and data sources
- Proven track record of successfully managing and executing transactions
- Experience working with senior leadership and managing cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Strong ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on identifying growth opportunities and managing risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing, coaching, and mentoring junior team members
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams (finance, legal, operations) and external advisors (banks, law firms, consultants)
- Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
- A results-oriented, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment
