Production Planner

Job Title: Production Controller / Planner 

Location: Thomasville, GA

Reports To: Business Unit Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Controller / Planner to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring efficient and timely production, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate material scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:
   • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
   • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
2. Customer Communication:
   • Communicate delivery commitments and updates to customers.
   • Ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding order status and delivery schedules.
3. Production Coordination:
   • Drive on-time delivery execution for internal part production.
   • Collaborate with production teams to prioritize and expedite critical parts.
4. Supplier Management:
   • Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
   • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues and improve delivery performance.
5. Material Scheduling:
   • Develop and maintain material schedules to support production plans.
   • Monitor material availability and adjust schedules as needed to meet production demands.
6. SIOP Review:
   • Participate in Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings.
   • Provide input on material availability, production capacity, and inventory levels.
   • Implement SIOP decisions to align production plans with business goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in production planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
