We have an immediate opening for a System Administrator to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools. The System Administrator will have a strong background in Red Hat/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration as the primary focus, with Windows administration experience as a secondary priority with excellent troubleshooting skills and a desire to learn new technologies and procedures.
\n- Administer, manage, and patch Red Hat/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including system installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
- Support and maintain the virtual VMware vSphere infrastructure to ensure smooth operations across various environments.
- Manage enterprise backup infrastructures.
- Define and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for system operations.
- Ensure systems are hardened and compliant with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to maintain security and operational readiness.
- Ensure system reliability and accessibility while preventing unauthorized access to systems and data.
- Implement and monitor infrastructure health metrics to maintain optimal performance.
- Provide hands-on system administration support, including system maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with team members and customers, requiring strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong organizational abilities.
- Minimal travel may be involved.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent RHEL certification.
- Windows 10 certifications.
- DOD Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I is preferred.
- Extensive experience with Red Hat/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration.
- Working knowledge of Windows administration and Active Directory.
- Security .
- Experience with Red Hat, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Experience working with RHEL systems in an air-gapped environment.
- Database knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including switches, routers, VoIPs, and network protocols.
Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
