We have an immediate opening for a Windows System Administrator to support our client on-site at a government facility, providing system administration and desktop support.
\n- Providing system administration and desktop support including adding/updating user facing programs.
- Managing the configuration of system hardware and software, including compliance with all Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, including updating existing software, installation of new software, resolution of software issues, fabrication of cables, and repairing or replacing hardware components.
- Providing user support for operating systems, peripherals, and applications.
- Conducting tests of IA safeguards in accordance with established test plans and procedures. Implement applicable patches including IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) for the applicable operating system(s).
- Performing system hardening in accordance with applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
- Performing system backups, including creation of software build media, installation procedures, backup copies of media, installation and support for installation errors and troubleshooting procedures.
- Willingness to perform other duties that may be assigned to support the lab environments and users including media transfers, Base Inventory Tracking System (BITS) support and visitor control.
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent)
- 1-5 years of experience in information assurance. 2-3 years of professional experience can be substituted for the Bachelor of Science degree requirement.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge of security concepts and practices in a computer environment.
- Must be able to qualify for Cyber Security Work Force IAT Level I.
- Requires CompTIA Security
- Windows 10 and Server 2019 certifications to be qualified for an IAT Level I Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) position are a plus, training may be substituted.
- Other certifications/experience that would be a plus include CompTIA A , CompTIA Linux and Cisco CCNA.
This position requires the candidate to have/obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
