We are looking for experienced Operators for 2nd shift and 3rd third positions. This position supports Assemblies-finishing and assembly manufacturing process for preparation and basic trouble shooting of production machinery for manufacturing runs. This position is responsible for ensuring the production equipment/ tooling is set up as required and capable of producing parts that meet all relevant product specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Articulates and communicates issues and problems, as well as offering ideas for improvements, to the appropriate people to minimize down time and strive to meet goals.
- Inspects and measures (various types) first production pieces to ensure machine is producing pieces within specification. adjust as required and/or notify engineer/ management if process cannot product acceptable parts.
- Provide additional support production runs as required. Troubleshoots, collects, and analyzes process/machine data as required or with assistance of Engineering personnel when process is not capable.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Able to work in a fast-paced department with continuously changing jobs and priorities. Able to perform several tasks concurrently.
- Ability to read/write/understand English. Ability to read, write, and interpret all PPC documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as measure in English and metric measurements.
- Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, as well as PPC’s computer software for quality and production.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Assemblies, Extrusion and/or previous manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Previous experience with ISO, FDA, and/or cGMP.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk.
- Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, tools and fine product. Repetitive motion/patterns are continuous.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Required to stand/walk for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift.
