Tool Assembly Inspection Technicians, work in the Tool Assembly Department in a support roll for the operations group. Putnam Plastics Corp. (PPC) is a fast-paced medical extrusion organization. Practical and formal knowledge/ experience should be focused on mechanical tooling, developing precision measuring, and assembly process. This position is involved in developing record generation, data systems upkeeping and data improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verify all parts used in production tools/ pumps are within developed specifications prior to part storage using measuring tools such as- Micrometer, Caliper, Dial Indicator, ID pins, Optical Comparator, Microscopes, Rockwell Testers, along with other tools.
- Maintain inventory data base- sign in/out and perform inventory audits.
- Report all parts not in tolerance and work with the toolroom to manufacture new parts as needed.
- Work directly with Operations Technicians and Tool Technicians resolving production head/pup problems.
- Operate various shop equipment- Mill, Lathe, Media Blasters etc.
- Follow proper handling practices of chemicals per procedures and maintaining safe work practices. Must follow LOTO and HAZMAT policies. have the ability to refer to Safety Data Sheets as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient at disassembling and reassembling mechanical tooling.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and math skills.
- Read mechanical prints.
- Microsoft Word /Excel experience and electronic record keeping.
- 4 years of experience in a toolroom environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- cGMP workplace exposure
- Machining and Extrusion experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to input, handle or feel, use of arms to reach, able to hear and talk. Must have dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Required to stand for majority of an 8-hour work shift and lift/push/pull up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout work shift.
