Large Format Lead Digital Press Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Cole Graphic Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Digital Press Operator to join our dynamic team! In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining digital presses to produce high-quality prints that meet customer specifications and project requirements. Working closely with the Prepress Manager, Production Team, and Sales Team, you’ll ensure seamless communication and efficient production flow. Your sharp eye for detail and solid understanding of digital press operation will help deliver vibrant, precise results, while your technical expertise keeps our state-of-the-art equipment running smoothly. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent attendance for all scheduled shifts
• Independently set up and operate our large format presses and other related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs
• Troubleshoot and resolve printing problems; adjust the interface settings and mechanical operation of the equipment to maintain quality, registration, color, and speed at optimum for the production of quality print pieces
• Maintain color consistency from previous or original orders
• Operate ultra-violet curing equipment to ensure ink is properly cured
• Communicate, assist, and assign duties to other operators
• Identify opportunities for improvements, identify potential areas of risk, and promptly share critical business information with key stakeholders to maximize results throughout Cole
• Coordinate effective teamwork and use all company resources efficiently to promote superior financial results for Cole; maintain Cole equipment and assets to maximize ROI
• Establish and maintain effective business relationships with all employees, vendors, business partners, government/regulatory entities, and communities in which we operate
• Strictly enforce workplace safety measures; safeguard the welfare of all employees, guests, visitors, and business partners at all times; promptly report workplace risks, incidents, injuries, and near misses; consistently wear and utilize all required PPE
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive and proprietary business information and safeguard Cole assets at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 18 years or older
• 3 years as a Large Format Press Operator
• Able to accurately understand work orders and technical drawings
• Understanding of inks and print-related chemicals
• Ability to understand and use measuring devices such as rulers, tape measures, and micrometers/calipers
• Strong color management/correction skills using rip software and printer’s user interface
• Ability to operate and maintain Large Format Digital Printers and Plotters as well as other supplemental equipment.
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
• Self-driven and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• PC and MS Office proficient
• Culturally sensitive and works well with the full diversity of our company and community
• Uncompromising integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to pass background check 

Preferred

• Certificate of Operator Training from Manufacturer(s) of Large Format Printers
• 7 years as Large Format Press Operator
• Understanding of typical plastic substrates
