POSITION SUMMARY:
The Professional Women’s Hockey League is seeking experienced and passionate event managers for the Fan Experience & Game Activations Associate positions for our Boston PWHL team. The Associate will be directly responsible for game entertainment, including assisting with broadcast production and corporate partner activations for the PWHL Boston team. Responsibilities include oversight of all in-market fan entertainment initiatives. These responsibilities and tasks will be coordinated with and supervised by the team's Director of Business Operations, with support and guidance provided by key League stakeholders including the Director of Game Operations & Fan Experience (Hockey Operations), as well as various senior members of the PWHL Business Operation’s Commercial and Brand departments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Game Presentation: Manage all aspects of in-game entertainment for the PWHL Boston team, ensuring alignment and adherence with league standards and expectations.
- Partnership Activation: Manage execution of partnership activations in-venue and in-game, including activations such as concourse signage, kiosks, giveaways, etc.
- Event Management: Oversee volunteers, interns, and staff where applicable to plan and execute a highly professional game entertainment product.
- Brand Strategy: Assists with analysis of market trends, local sentiment, and historical context to set and adjust the strategy for in-game entertainment specific to the PWHL Boston team.
- Fan Engagement: Works closely with league corporate partnership staff, and team marketing and sales staffs to implement partner activations, promotions, events, and fan experiences that drive engagement, promote sales, and enhance the overall fan experience.
- Fan Experience Team Participation: Under the direction of the Director of Game Operations & Fan Experience, participate in regular meetings and knowledge sharing with the audience experience and game operations teams in the PWHL Boston market, aligning on performance goals and ensuring progress is made toward engagement metrics.
- Technology and Systems: Identify and utilize hardware and software available in-market to best engage existing fans and find new fans, including A/V equipment, social media, apps, etc.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports and presentations for management, summarizing game presentation performance, trends, and strategies in market.
- Teamwork: Develop strong relationships with market and venue event management partners.
- Assists with general administrative tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two years' experience in event management and game entertainment - Required.
- Bachelors degree in events, marketing, sport management, or related degree – Required.
- Experience in the sports and entertainment industry – Preferred.
- Knowledge of event management tools and platforms – Preferred.
- Must be proficient with computers and MS Office programs.

- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well with management-level peers as well as employees in other groups across the organization.

- Ability to work long, irregular hours and weekends as dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
