Fire Extinguisher Technician

Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of people and property by properly operating and maintaining portable devices.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and test fire extinguishers to ensure they are functioning correctly.
• Identify system deficiencies and prepare accurate and timely inspection reports.
• Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings.
• Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code.
• Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues.
• Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Protect and maintain company equipment.
• Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of industry experience required.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards preferred.
• Experience with fire extinguishers preferred.
• Troubleshooting skills essential.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Flexibility with scheduling requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Requires balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
