Pyramid Studios, an adult day training program, is seeking a performing arts instructor (theatre, drama, musical theatre) to teach adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The successful candidate will have functional skills in the performing arts, (theatre, musical theatre, drama, etc.) and the ability to share their knowledge with students. Music experience a plus! Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities is helpful, but not required. Personal care is required with this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Functional skills in the performing arts (experience in dancing, acting, puppetry, improv, etc.)
- Successful criminal background check
- Successful drug test
- Valid Florida driver's license
Responsibilities include:
- Use of arts to enrich lives of students
- Developing short-term objectives for students
- Developing classes, projects and curricula
- Being a dependable role model for students
- Determining interests and abilities of students
- Willing to perform personal care for individuals as needed
