Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems and applications are functioning optimally. Duties
- Provide first-line support for desktop hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems related to operating systems, applications, and mobile devices.
- Utilize ServiceNow for ticket management and documentation of support requests.
- Assist users with Active Directory account management, including password resets and user access issues.
- Configure and deploy desktop systems using SCCM, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Manage DNS settings as needed for network connectivity issues.
- Support VPN connectivity for remote users, ensuring secure access to company resources.
- Maintain inventory of computer hardware and peripherals, ensuring timely replacements and upgrades.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support or a related IT role.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems is preferred.
- Experience with DNS configuration and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Proficiency in supporting mobile devices across various platforms (iOS, Android).
- Knowledge of SCCM for software deployment and system management is desirable.
- Understanding of Active Directory functionalities, including user account management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
