The Job At-A-Glance
Q2 is seeking a highly motivated, meticulous and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join the FP&A team and support our Revenue function. This role will play a critical part in building, maintaining, and improving financial models to drive optimized revenue forecasting accuracy, scenario analysis, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial modeling, revenue drivers, and key business levers that impact top-line growth. Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will collaborate closely with Accounting, Operations, and the FP&A team. A Typical Day
Revenue Forecasting & Modeling:
- Maintain, enhance and refine robust financial models to support forecasting revenue across different business segments and long-term planning
- Analyze revenue trends, key drivers, and variances to enhance forecast accuracy
- Create and present polished scenario analysis to assess the impact of business decisions on revenue performance to stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Operations, Accounting) to align on revenue drivers and key assumptions
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities, supporting leadership in data-driven decision-making
- Leverage tooling, data analytics, and automation to enhance revenue modeling efficiency
- Lead routine interlocks with business partners to capture and contribute strategic insights on forecast-impacting factors, driving informed discussions and cross-functional alignment
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support revenue growth
- Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, long-term planning, and forecasting cycles
- Support strategic initiatives and projects through revenue evaluation and scenario analyses
- Support special projects, ad hoc analysis, and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Monitor key revenue metrics and KPIs
- Present clear, concise revenue insights to leadership and investor relations teams.
- Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting and forecasting methodologies to drive scalability and accuracy
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6 years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting/budgeting practices
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to draw insights from data and present findings to senior leadership
- Ability to solve complex problems with creative solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional working relationships and add value as a trusted, strategic, financial business partner
- Background in financial services, information technology and/or software is a definite advantage, particularly SaaS, including software revenue recognition
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with data visualization tools and financial systems (Anaplan & NetSuite) is preferred
