Measurement Tech I
Job Summary
The role of a natural gas Measurement Technician I is to ensure the integrity and reliability of natural gas meters, measurement recording and gas sampling equipment and perform operations and maintenance at metering facilities in compliance with company policy and procedures. Test, calibrate, operate, maintain, and inspect electronic and mechanical flow meters and obtain gas samples. Communicate at a technical level and interact with customers, measurement, operations, and engineering groups. Assist in field operations and maintenance functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and calibrate electronic flow meters.
  • Witness testing and calibration of 3rd party meters.
  • Learn to collect gas samples and operate gas chromatograph.
  • Assure that regulatory and environmental compliances are upheld
  • Ability to recognize Hazards and report such Hazards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic flow meters
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, communicate, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle records acceptable by QB Energy’s insurance carrier.
Industry Experience
  • Minimum 1 year industry experience with Measurement experience a plus
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be capable of physical duties in outdoor environment
  • Utilize basic computer skills to use e-mail, meter test and data collection software and hardware, and complete electronic reports
Working conditions
Must be available for call out schedule and overtime. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, and crawl. An employee in this job is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, often exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and has a risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

Compensation and Benefits
  • $28.50 - $32.50 hourly
  • Eligible for an annual bonus

Measurement Technician II
Job Summary
The role of a natural gas Measurement Technician II is to ensure the integrity and reliability of natural gas meters, measurement recording and gas sampling equipment and perform operations and maintenance at metering facilities in compliance with company policy and procedures. Test, calibrate, operate, maintain, and inspect and repair electronic and mechanical flow meters and obtain gas samples. Communicate at a technical level and interact with customers, measurement, operations, and engineering groups. Assist in field operations and maintenance functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, and calibrate electronic flow meters.
  • Witness testing and calibration of 3rd party meters.
  • Ability to collect gas samples, correctly install, set up and verify a gas chromatograph, flash and restore configurations, and understand differences between a portable and online gas chromatograph.
  • Ability to identify and correct issues with electronic flow meters, troubleshoot/correct Modbus mapping on Fisher Roc and other platforms, troubleshoot/correct issues with Fisher Roc Platform TLP mapping and ABB Total Flow Register mapping
  • Ability to identify potential analysis measurement errors within an electronic gas measurement system (sample port location, valve types, sample port length)
  • Participate in Project Planning
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, communicate, take direction from supervisors, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules.
  • Assure that regulatory and environmental compliances are upheld
  • Ability to recognize Hazards and report such Hazards
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Preferred one- or two-year technical diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle records acceptable by QB Energy’s insurance carrier.
Industry Experience
  • Minimum 3 yrs. Measurement experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be capable of physical duties in outdoor environment
  • Utilize computer skills to use e-mail, meter test and data collection software and hardware, complete electronic reports and install and upgrade EGM software and firmware in many different scenarios
