C&I BUYER

SUMMARY

The C&I Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials to support commercial and industrial (C&I) projects. This role will ensure a reliable supply chain, optimize costs, and maintain supplier relationships while adhering to quality and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet project demands efficiently. This position reports to the Senior Purchasing Manager, or another management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is located in North Jackson, OH and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm or 9 : 00am to 6 : 00pm local time. This position is expected to travel up to 10%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure assigned purchase orders are processed with proper terms & conditions and within university policy & procedures.
• Responsible to the Senior Purchasing Manager for the procurement of supplies and / or equipment for all departments.
• Receive and interview vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality or other matters.
• In conjunction with the Senior Purchasing Manager, and larger purchasing team, develop and investigate new sources of supply and make formal recommendations as to their approval.
• Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern.
• Work from / with engineering requests for components for new programs.
• Obtain quotes, negotiate with vendors, source items with vendors, follow and expedite delivery.
• Creates, maintains updated product / vendor information in appropriate files, folders and shared drives.
• Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving any associated problems.
• Acts as back-up in the absence of the Senior Buyer or other purchasing team members.
• Works with Project Management Teams to ensure all materials / services arrive at project sites in a timely manner.
• Works in conjunction with Transportation & Logistics team to expedite domestic and international shipments.
• Works directly with suppliers on all invoice resolution matters.
• Responsible for working with suppliers on the submittal of all applicable drawings, specifications and quality documentation.
• Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
• Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by Management
