Description
SUMMARY
The Senior Mechanical Manager will manage the construction projects related to the production facilities at QCELLS (Ingot, Wafer, Cell, Module, and auxiliary facilities). The Senior Mechanical Manager needs to have various mechanical work experience, such as design, construction, progress, and contract management of manufacturing projects. The Senior Mechanical Manager shall integrate and manage each trade of mechanical works in coordination with the design-builder and related internal teams (electrical and CSA team, Production teams).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall supervision of the Mechanical Utility / Gas and chemical Supply System / Plumbing / Fire Protection / Automation by contracted design builder(s) in terms of design and construction. Cross-check that the engineering output is in line with local regulations, guidelines, Codes, and Standards.
- Coordination between in-house production teams by QCELLS and contracted design builder.
- Manage the technical needs in all stages of the factory construction phase and design, including conceptual and detailed system design deliverables. Observe regulatory codes and other stakeholders' requirements, specify a balance of systems, and coordinate needs for the permitting.
- Regulatory liaison with Engineering team members to gather all necessary data for utility interconnection studies,
- Interact with internal / external stakeholders for technology discussions.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes
- Manage the Site construction activities related with Mechanical Utility / Gas & Chemical Supply System / Plumbing / Fire Protection / Automation issues with assigned General Contractor, the detail tasks including but not limited to Progress Monitoring and Control, Technical Advice, Schedule Management, Risk Control, Claim Management, Inspection & Test, Commissioning, Productivity review, expediting works etc.
- Assist in the development and review of project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards, and quotes from contractors.
- Evaluate and assess bid package of contractor including commercial and technical aspects. (Contract terms, Commercial terms, Cost, Execution plan etc.)
- Assessment of the feasibility, the risks, and opportunities of project execution in Mechanical matters.
- Coordination for Permit and Approval all through the factory construction phase.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned;
- Prepare the general conditions budget.
- Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with design team / client as well as effectively lead the trades.
- Expedite all shop drawing process and approvals.
- Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis.
- Monitor site safety and ensure that the requirement of the occupational Health and Safety standards are enforced.
- Ensure Completion of works and track all independent testing and inspections as required by Government Authorities and to ensure all required civic bodies inspections are performed. Support Director of Project Control to develop and review project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards and quotes from suppliers;
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
