Job Descriptions and Justification: Position Summary:
This Solution Architect will have deep experience in the Enterprise Business Architect domain and will play a critical role in defining and optimizing enterprise-level strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, and leveraging technology to drive business value. This role requires expertise in business architecture, SAFe, and the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable solutions within a product-centric organizational model.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment:
o Collaborate with executive leadership to define and align business architecture strategy with business objectives and SAFe principles.
o Develop and maintain the business architecture roadmap, ensuring it supports the strategic goals and product portfolio.
Portfolio Management:
o Participate in Portfolio-level events such as Portfolio Syncs and PI Planning to provide architectural guidance and ensure alignment with business architecture.
o Work closely with Portfolio Management to align portfolio decisions with business architecture principles and standards.
Business Architecture Development:
o Develop and maintain comprehensive business architecture models, including business capabilities, value streams, and organizational structures.
o Document and communicate the current and future state of business processes and systems.
o Ensure that architectural artifacts align with SAFe and support the product-centric approach.
Architectural Governance:
o Establish and enforce governance processes for business architecture at the portfolio level.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and architectural principles.
o Monitor and report on the adherence to architecture standards and guidelines across the portfolio.
Technology Evaluation and Implementation:
o Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, assessing their potential impact on the enterprise and recommending adoption strategies.
o Provide technical oversight and guidance during the implementation of new technologies and systems.
o Collaborate with IT and product teams to ensure seamless integration of new solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
o Engage with key stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and IT teams, to gather requirements and drive architectural solutions.
o Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback, define requirements, and ensure buy-in for architectural changes.
o Communicate complex architectural concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Continuous Improvement:
o Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization and innovation.
o Mentor and coach team members on business architecture practices and SAFe principles.
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in business architecture and SAFe.
Qualifications:
Education:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
o 3 years of experience with a multi-business unit organization
o Demonstrates base level business and professional breadth of knowledge and Business Architecture awareness
o Creative capacity to craft, evolve and customize business architecture deliverables and to embrace and guide business and technology partners through change and complexity
o Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving and big picture/conceptual skills
o Strong communication, planning and decision-making skills with a quick learning style

o Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and growth within architecture field (i.e., training, or architectural certifications such Certified Business Architect)
o Experience with strategy to execution value stream and applying business architecture across the value stream.
o Ability to look across the enterprise and apply system boundaries and business process flows that cross those boundaries.
o Knowledge of insurance industry
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
o Proficiency in business architecture tools and modeling techniques.
o Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
o Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SAFe principles.
Certifications:
o Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is helpful.
o SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Architect) is a strong plus.
