Position Title: Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory, manage facilities, and provide IT support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of the lab, maintaining safety and compliance standards, managing facility resources, and assisting with basic IT troubleshooting and system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Management
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure smooth workflows.
· Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory practices.
· Maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduling regular maintenance and repairs.
· Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and procure necessary materials within budget.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including hazardous materials handling and waste disposal.
· Train and supervise laboratory staff, interns, or students as required.
· Develop and manage the laboratory budget, control costs, optimize resource allocation
· Assist in drafting equipment purchase request reports.
Facilities Management
· Manage facility resources to ensure optimal working conditions for laboratory and office spaces.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
· Monitor utility usage and implement cost-effective measures to reduce energy consumption.
· Ensure adherence to building codes and safety regulations.
IT Support
· Provide first-level IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
· Coordinate with the IT department or external vendors for advanced technical support.
· Manage the inventory of IT equipment and ensure secure storage and usage.
· Support the setup and maintenance of laboratory-specific software and hardware.
· Ensure proper data backup procedures and compliance with data security protocols.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s or master's degree in biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in laboratory operations, facilities management, or IT support.
Skills and Competencies
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Excellent knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
· Familiarity with building systems and facility maintenance.
· Proficiency in IT systems, including Windows, macOS, and basic networking.
