Job Ad – Inventory Control Material Handler / Reach Truck Operator

We are seeking a skilled Inventory Control Material Handler / Reach Truck Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating equipment to move and place product in racks and assist in consolidation of inventory within the warehouse of a supply chain and distribution organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and TASKS:
· Performs Research to resolve discrepancies affecting inventory accuracy.
· Place product in racks according to standards (product put-away).
· Must confer with Manager or Lead to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications.
· Assist in accomplishing physical inventories and daily cycle counts as needed.
· Maintain the warehouse in a clean and organized manner.
· Has in-depth knowledge & access in 4-D/WMS System (i.e. analysis window) to effectively carryout daily responsibilities using Handheld Scanners.
· Assists on all final counts (to include all product discrepancies)
· Has in-depth up to date knowledge of all inventory (i.e. packaging, U of M’s, domestic/international product, product bases, etc.) to effectively carryout daily responsibilities
· Assists on vendor/customer inquiries (i.e. cycle-counts, U of M, etc.)
· Assists in consolidation & maintenance of all inventory placement.
· Interfaces with the freight drivers to effectively carryout daily responsibilities
· Inspection of freight and signing Bill of Lading to effectively carryout daily responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and EDUCATION:
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
· Previous experience operating a reach truck or similar equipment preferred.
· Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.
· Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory management.
· Minimum 1 year of related work experience
· Proficient in heavy lifting and comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations for safe equipment operation.
· Able to operate desktop and portable computers, including access and search through electronic databases.
· Able to walk, sit, crouch, crawl, bend, reach, stretch and especially stand for long periods.
· Demonstrates a level understanding of the warehouse process and the material handler’s impact on company business
· Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to recognize non-conformances between observed product, P/N’s, packaging, etc.
· Able to apply sound logic and reasoning when determining how to proceed with non-conformances, exceptions, etc.
