Position Title : Machine Setup Technician

Wage : $17-$22 / hour

Shift : 1st

Hours : 7am-3pm

Machine Setup Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Demonstrate understanding of all set-up procedures and all molding machine and secondary operation functions
Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift
Set-up, start, and troubleshoot presses using established process control methods
Use computer to print work instructions and other job related documentation
Monitor press cycle to ensure presses are running to standards
Observe machine operations to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary
Assist Operators when they encounter issues in the running machinery
Modify existing robot programs to handle parts without causing damage to the equipment or parts
Program machines for operators; creating new programs as needed
Ensure machines are running at peak efficiency, rate, and quality throughout the shift
Clean, inspect, and maintain injection mold and machine as required
Work as part of a team to minimize downtime and increase production
Perform periodic inspection rounds when needed
Actively participate in team meetings, think sessions, and process improvement meetings designed to create a better work process
Assist lead person with training of new personnel on proper job procedures, quality requirements and safety procedures
All other duties as requested

Machine Setup Technician Requirements :

2-year technical degree / tech certification in related field or 4 years of related experience

Experience with plastics injection molding

Experience in working with drawings, part lists, engineering orders, diagrams, schematics and shop orders

Electrical experience preferred for basic maintenance of machinery

Must be safety conscience, a team player, and a self-starter

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization, among shift personnel as well as to the other shifts

Ability to utilize a computer for accessing reports, email, and general data entry

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis and 25lbs on a regular basis

Frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and communicate

Occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl; use foot / feet to operate equipment and taste or smell

Frequently lift and / or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and / or move more than 100lbs

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration
