ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (entry-level)
The Engineering Technician role will be centered around contract administration and project management support. This individual will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams to ensure the smooth progression of projects from conception to completion. Key responsibilities include : Assisting in the preparation, review, and management of maintenance contracts, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with organizational standards. Playing an active role in scheduling reviews, providing insights and updates to ensure timelines are met efficiently. Supporting the coordination between project teams and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and the resolution of any issues related to contract specifications or project timelines. Utilizing various software tools to track project progress and contract milestones, making adjustments as necessary to align with project goals and deadlines. Engaging in continuous monitoring and reporting on the status of contracts, identifying potential risks or delays, and recommending solutions. This position offers a young civil engineer the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the administrative and contractual facets of engineering projects, including a deeper understanding of the nuances of contract law as it applies to construction and engineering. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure project success. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on project needs and individual growth.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
- Technical Proficiency : Demonstrates expertise and efficiency in Microsoft software, as well as familiarity with AASHTO and DOT standards.
Writing skills and routine calculations required for the preparation of contracts. Experience in data management and error correction in databases.

Required Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; 0-4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field. Experience with software listed in KSAs or similar programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities : This position has no direct reports.
Work Environment : This job operates in a professional office environment. The work environment may include exposure to construction sites and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work may include field investigations and inspections.
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to manipulate computer input devices, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel : This position may require up to 10% travel to client locations or project sites.
