What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Business Administrator position at Quabbin Regional School District?
The Quabbin Regional School District is seeking an Assistant Business Administrator with a start date of July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Assist the School Business Administrator in functions such as maintaining the General Ledger, grant management, audit preparation, and budget administration. The Assistant Business Administrator will act as back up to AP/Payroll positions.
Essential Functions:
1.Maintain general ledger, preparation of journal entries, including recording of all revenues;
2.Prepare cash reconciliation supporting documentation for District Treasurer;
3.Prepare worksheets and supporting documents for Federal, State, and local reports;
4.Assist with audit preparation, serve as liaison to audit firm;
5.Assist in budget preparation, preparation of supporting schedules and projections;
6.Oversee district student activity funds;
7.Other financial duties as assigned by the School Business Administrator.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years’ experience in municipal or public school accounting
• Working knowledge of Infinite Visions or similar fund accounting system
• General office knowledge, working knowledge of the regional school administration process, a basic understanding of the interaction between school committee, local and state government, working knowledge of business administration best practices, general office procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion with confidential information; excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent computer skills including MS Office applications
• Knowledge of and experience in procurement procedures;
• Possess or willing to obtain within one year of employment, certification as a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO)
Compensation will be based upon the applicant’s skills and experience.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
