Position Summary:
Reporting to the US Ops Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day activities for the main US Operating entities. This position will be involved in all aspects of general accounting. The role will also work closely with Global Financial Business Services (GFBS), Global Consolidations and External Reporting teams to ensure accurate and timely results during the month-end and quarter-end close.

Job Accountabilities:
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments ensuring journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry.
- Prepare account and other monthly and quarterly analyses as requested by management.
- Ensures that balance sheets are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger. Research variances, determines root causes and makes recommendations for adjustments.
- Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results, researching variances to forecast and budget prior month and prior year.
- Maintain SOX compliance for entities, ensuring that control activities are completed accurately and timely.
- Track and maintain fixed assets and capital projects detail, including management of expenditure request process and month-end depreciation adjustments.
- Prepare ad hoc requests from management and other duties as assigned.
- Combination of public accounting and corporate industry experience preferred.
- Experience with the month-end close and year-end processes, account analysis and US GAAP financial statement preparation required.
- Knowledge of SOX-404 and experience in the manufacturing or the chemicals industry is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge of accounting systems such as JDE and Blackline (or other account reconciliation software) preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting; CPA preferred.
- 4-6 years of relevant work experience showing progression in areas of responsibilities, manufacturing or chemicals industry preferred
