Summary of Position:
The Vice President Integrated Supply Chain leads the development and advancement of Supply Chain strategies, policies, processes, systems and capabilities to meet Quaker Houghton’s financial, service and delivery performance objectives. The role will oversee and manage all aspects of the global Product Supply center of excellence functions such as Supply Chain Planning, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Trade Compliance, Analytics, Digital Supply Chain Systems, and Network and Strategic Planning. Key deliverables will be to lead the global supply chain function in developing and implementing strategies to optimize a multi-location, global network to improve service performance across channels, improve inventory turns (i.e., increase capital efficiency) and reduce costs. This role will develop a process-driven culture motivated to achieve operational excellence through continuous improvement and serve as a change agent to improve technology, improve business visibility by improving analytics/KPIs, strengthening standardized processes, driving Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and implementing world-class supply chain and operational practices.
Accountabilities:
- Leads supply chain strategy and design, supply chain network optimization, end to end supply chain performance management, process definition, process improvement, and priority setting.
- Lead and develop highly skilled Engineering organization that delivers technical solutions and systems. Responsible for CapEx budgets including worldwide coordination of all CapEx budgeting. Review and prioritize operational investments and corresponding CapEx to maximize the return on investment and business priorities.
- Develops and through functional leaders implements Quaker Houghton’s end-to-end supply chain strategic roadmap that supports and aligns with overall corporate strategic direction, financial objectives and customer expectations by elaborating a 3-to-5-year plan for ISC functions and align them with long term Enterprise plan.
- Leads the assessment and development of optimal supply chain footprint capacity and capability, location analysis, make-versus buy, costs of manufacture, capital requirements and cost benefits, timetables, benchmarking/GAP analysis and review results upon completion including cost benefits and implementation plan. Set footprint vision and execution journey; with continuous footprint optimization and driving operational excellence including regional process & execution harmonization.
- Model impact and potential benefits to support MD&A deal Risk-Fit-Valuation and post-merger integration benefits realization. SPOC for screening DD phase of MD&A deals.
- Be an active part to NPI from company by Contribute to production location decisions in new product development and introduction process.
- Develops strategies to continuously optimize supply chain network cost while meeting required Customer SLAs. Perform what-if analyses and regional network optimization studies with external analytical support (Linear Programming Models). This scope includes the complete QH footprint: production sites, warehouses, office locations and laboratories.
- Communicate relevant optimization activities to the regional supply chain teams and regional supply planners to incorporate into the IBP process.
- Coach and support the pillar of IBP leader and team manage the systems and process infrastructure that plan and measure the performance and growth of the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) constituent functions that Source, Make and Distribute finished products.
- Design and implement process for Directors of each region to execute Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP to serve customer needs in accordance with the service level policies of the company
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing master data for Regional Operations, Procurement and EHS to ensure quality and consistency of data across the region.
- Responsible for all Process engineering and Continuous Improvement global functions and Quality Assurance policies and certifications protocols. Lead initiatives that continue to simplify the business, eliminate complexity, optimize the network, and support a demand driven supply chain strategy with linkage to the customer.
- Lead supply chain acquisition integrations.
Education & Experience:
- Engineering education at academic level (minimum BSc; preferred MSc)
- Supplementary education in Finance and Strategy (i.e. MBA) is strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing including relevant experience in EHS/QA/Engineering in global level.
- Currently operating at a senior management level in chemical industry (batch and/or continuous processes) is preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading multiple sites/plants globally
- Solid experience in batch manufacturing/processes and reactor chemistry/processes
- Good knowledge of the key Supply Chain functions in the Chemical business (i.e. sourcing, planning, freight, external warehousing, inventory mgt)
- Design linkage of S&OP regional process with integrated business planning (IBP)
- Knowledge of general operational/plant EHS regulatory requirements in QH’s key jurisdictions and EHS management systems
- Strong ambition to drive Personal and Process Safety
- Strong knowledge of QC and QA management systems
- Good knowledge of continuous improvement and excellence practices within Manufacturing (eg. Lean, 5-S, Six Sigma, FMEA)
- Excellent knowledge of Business Continuity Planning
- Good knowledge of operational transaction systems (JDE knowledge is strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of key financial reports and metrics
- Experience with buy-side M&A Due Diligence for Manufacturing
- Ability to travel up to 30% (local and global)
