Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join our team!
At Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care for our patients and an exceptional level of service for the owners who love them. We are open 24/7 and provide both emergency care and routine treatment for all types of pets, including cats, dogs, horses, farm animals, and exotic pets.
Our Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in our success by supporting doctors in the hospital, nursing and caring for patients, and interacting closely with clients in regards to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical feedback to team members in a timely manner, ensuring any retraining takes place
- Write and give annual reviews to all team members
- Handle and document all disciplinary issues
- Participate in the hiring and managing of your team members
- Schedule your team members in an efficient manner consistent with budgetary goals, hospital needs, and state requirements
- Approve and monitor PTO and time cards/corrections
- Organize and manage regular department meetings
- Personally address complaints and concerns from other team members or management
- Promote positive working relationships and efficient and effective communication
- Develop and adhere to policies and protocols
- Monitor and address any workers comp incidents
- Convey pertinent information to your team in a timely manner
- Attend monthly supervisor meetings
- Computer skills
- Attention to detail and calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Qualifications:
- Previous veterinary practice or management experience required
- Broad knowledge of basic small or large animal medicine
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during times of high tension
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
