Summary of work performed
Produce a first quality yarn with acceptable yarn yields
Essential Functions (Major job duties}
- Assist Supervisor and Quality Department with monofilament production and new development work.
- Coordinate daily production on extrusion lines and texturing/winder units.
- Assist in troubleshooting.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Use the appropriate specification sheets to set up the extruder and texturing/winder equipment.
- Provide hands on assistance to operators during startups, changeovers, and power failures.
- Work with Manager and operators to improve operation efficiency, quality, and scrap reduction.
- Lead by promoting safety, quality, and teamwork throughout the department.
- Ensure good daily housekeeping.
- Monitor production, texturing, and winding to ensure first quality product.
- Complete all production documents at designated intervals.
Education/knowledge requirements (IF APPLICABLE)
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to two years of “hands on” production experience.
- Proficient in writing, reading, speaking, and understanding English.
Ability to stand and to use hands and fingers to handle and feel. Frequently required to walk and to reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
