What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist position at Qualified Staffing?
Our Howell client is looking for 1st shift Machinists! This is a Monday-Friday position with occasional overtime. Pay is based on experience anywhere between $22-$24! Please call 517-579-5184 if you're interested!
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up various machine tools to produce repair parts or tooling within specification, with little or no assistance.
- Coordinates tooling requirements with various people in other departments.
- Estimates machining time and gives accurate completion dates for parts and tooling.
- Controls the inventory and ordering of raw materials needed for assignments.
- Performs other duties assigned by department leadsperson and/or supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATION (QUALIFICATIONS):
- At least five years of experience in operating machine shop equipment as desired. (Lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
- Must be familiar with the use of ALL precision measuring instruments.
- Must have a strong understanding of blueprint reading and some drafting background. Must be familiar with various carbide insert grades and geometries.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated.
