Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Part Finisher to join our manufacturing team. As a Medical Device Part Finisher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of medical devices through expert polishing, blasting, and finish work on various parts. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing flawless components will contribute directly to the safety and functionality of our medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Part Polishing: Utilize a range of hand tools, abrasive materials, and polishing equipment to smooth and refine the surfaces of medical device parts. Achieve the desired finish texture while adhering to strict quality standards.
2. Surface Blasting: Perform surface blasting techniques using appropriate equipment and media to prepare part surfaces for finishing. Ensure that blasting procedures are carried out accurately and consistently.
3. Finish Work: Apply specialized finishing techniques such as deburring, edge blending, and contouring to eliminate sharp edges, improve aesthetics, and enhance functionality of medical device parts.
4. Quality Assurance: Inspect finished parts to verify conformance with specifications and quality standards. Identify and address any defects, blemishes, or irregularities, and perform necessary corrective actions.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, detailing the processes, materials, and techniques used for each part. Complete all required documentation in compliance with company policies and regulations.
6. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure a seamless workflow and consistent quality output. Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and colleagues to address any issues or concerns related to part finishing.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and perform routine inspections on polishing, blasting, and finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
8. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to medical device manufacturing. Promote a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures and practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in metalworking, machining, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in part polishing, surface blasting, and finishing work within a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools, polishing compounds, blasting media, and finishing equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve precise finishing results.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work meticulously for extended periods.
- Solid understanding of quality control principles and the ability to identify defects or irregularities in finished parts.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude to work well within a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
