Facilities Maintenance Technician

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Your Impact:
As a Facility Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing both facility equipment and manufacturing machinery, ensuring the facility runs efficiently and safely. Your work directly impacts the day-to-day operations of our production processes, and your dedication to maintenance and safety will contribute to the overall success of our team.
Essential Functions:
- Repair and maintain a variety of plant production equipment, including metalworking and assembly machinery, through tasks such as welding, brazing, cleaning, and other mechanical processes.
- Diagnose issues, determine necessary repairs, tear down and reassemble machines as required.
- Order and maintain necessary spare parts for both equipment and the facility, while identifying and specifying tooling for future purchases.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized at all times.
- Maintain heating, cooling, and sprinkler systems inside and outside the facility to ensure consistent operation.
- Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines, painting equipment, operating lift trucks, removing snow, and supporting other maintenance efforts.
- Meet scheduled maintenance and calibration requirements for systems and equipment.
- Coordinate and manage all facility maintenance operations, ensuring that any issues impacting equipment, facility conditions, or safety are promptly addressed.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and report significant issues to your supervisor.
- Recommend and implement changes aimed at improving safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain thorough records and reports and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Stay updated on developments in maintenance and manufacturing fields through company-sponsored training and development activities.
- Responsible for hazardous waste management, including inspections, handling Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and ensuring chemical releases are safely contained.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education Required:
- High School Diploma (required) and a background in maintenance, tooling, testing, or technical skills; trade school courses are preferred.
Experience Required:
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with basic single-phase electrical systems (three-phase knowledge is a plus).
- Experience with mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
Experience Preferred:
- Knowledge or experience with electrical wiring and PLCs in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with CNC machining and related equipment.
