What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center Dock Clerk position at Quality Bicycle Products GBC / QBP?
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Expected schedule, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
The Dock Clerk is responsible for managing all aspects of daily dock operations, including shipping and receiving. This role ensures accuracy and timeliness of all documents and transactions, as well as the loading and unloading of freight.
The Dock Clerk is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and scheduling the receiving, and shipping of materials in a warehouse setting. The Dock Clerk will ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are accurately tracked and documented. The role requires strong organizational, communication, unloading, loading and problem-solving skills.
The dock clerk works with carriers to schedule deliveries, and also works with the DC Ops team to prioritize which freight is processed and when, plus this role helps the Receiving Supervisor to schedule the appropriate amount of labor to keep within SLA requirements.
- Greet drivers and unload shipment.* [25%]
- Work with management to maintain organization of the dock while also working with carriers to schedule deliveries, all the while staying within dock capacity constraints. * [10%]
- Ensure all safety regulations, policies, and procedures are followed. * [10%]
- Enter truck information onto whiteboard in HighJump and audit for accuracy. Must make sure that FIFO takes place. * [10%]
- Work with IC to maintain accurate records of all BOL transactions. * [5%]
- Work with IC on any ASN, noncompliance issues. * [5%]
- Prioritize HOT shipments. * [5%]
- Load empty pallet trailer as needed and work with pallet vendor to schedule timely pick ups. * [5%]
- Monitor carrier damage, take photos, mark BOL, and submit Jira tickets to document the carrier damaged product so that Q is not charged for the carrier damaged products * [5%]
- Pick and pack outbound orders when volumes require other departments to help. [5%]
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. [15%]

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in a DC/Warehouse environment.
- Well versed in English for both verbal and written communication.
- Organizational skills including both product and people
- Time management
- Computer proficiency with Office 365
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Equipment certification with warehouse equipment such a stand up forklifts
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to drive all equipment such as walking rider or sit down/stand up forklift
- Desire to take initiative and drive continuous improvement in the position and the department.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience driving the various equipment
- Some Experience using High Jump WMS
- Some experience with Inventory control or receiving in a Warehouse environment.

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs overhead occasionally.
- Ability to team lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8-10 hours per shift occasionally.
- Frequent seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s). It is often present when lifting involves the hands. Note: Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand to hold or operate a tool such as tin snips or scissors.
