Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed for clients with specific challenges.
- Support clients in daily activities and encourage independence where possible.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Follow established care plans and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience in a group home or personal care home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with direct support systems and home community care approaches is beneficial.
- Certification in First Aid is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and assisting clients as needed.
