Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Provide catheter care and assist with mobility, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of services provided.
- Support clients in daily living activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare team members regarding patient needs.
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for clients.
Requirements
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or equivalent training preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques and basic first aid is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is highly desirable.
- Experience in patient observation and providing personal care is an asset.
- Ability to lift patients safely using proper techniques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
