Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation.
- Implementing care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
- Supporting individuals in social activities and community engagement to promote independence and socialization.
- Monitoring vital signs and assisting with medication administration as required.
- Providing first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of services provided and progress towards goals.
- Collaborating with families, healthcare providers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in assisted living, social work, or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with individuals and their families.
