We are seeking a highly motivated and eager-to-learn Parts Department Manager who is ready to expand their knowledge and abilities while managing inventory, ordering parts, and accurately distributing parts to both customers and field crews. Job Overview
As the Parts Department Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
· Ordering & Procurement – Manage weekly parts order workflow while collaborating with leadership, sales, & office staff
· Parts Distribution – Efficiently pack & ship orders to meeting tight deadlines to support operations
· Inventory Management – Maintain accurate stock levels to ensure parts availability.
· Field Crew Relations – Maintain a strong working relationship with field crews to ensure their needs are met efficiently.
· Lifting & Handling – Safely lift and move parts weighing 75 lbs or more as part of daily duties.
· This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, eager to learn, and ready to take on new challenges.
Inventory & Parts Management:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive inventory system, ensuring all products are stocked and tracked effectively.
- Maintain accurate stock levels to ensure parts availability and prevent shortages.
- Order parts weekly, collaborating with the Operations Manager and Owners to meet demand.
- Use warehouse management software to track inventory and improve efficiency (experience with inventory software is a plus).
Parts Distribution & Logistics:
- Deliver parts to customers and field crews in a timely manner to support ongoing operations.
- Work closely with field crews to ensure their needs are met efficiently, fostering strong working relationships with technicians and service teams.
- Plan, stock, and organize warehouse inventory to ensure products are easily accessible for efficient distribution.
Warehouse Operations & Development:
- Assist in the design, setup, and organization of the warehouse to build an efficient and scalable inventory management system.
- Manage warehouse operations in accordance with company policies and overall vision.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management, optimizing operational flow, space utilization, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and security standards, maintaining a safe and organized workplace.
Lifting & Handling:
- Safely lift and move parts weighing 75 lbs or more on a regular basis as part of daily duties.
- Follow proper handling and safety protocols to protect both personnel and inventory.
Team Leadership & Reporting:
- Manage and mentor warehouse staff, providing training and support to ensure high performance.
- Develop and produce regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and efficiency metrics.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, shipping, and field service teams, to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as Parts Manager role is preferred.
- Expertise optimizing warehouse efficiencies and operational processes.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to safely lift 75 lbs or more on a regular basis.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Forklift certification, or willingness to become forklift certified
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
