Schedule:
Variable 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Payrate: $24.04 - $31.01, plus, $10/hr per diem.
PURPOSE:
- Prepares lab equipment for research experiments.
- Reports data and compiles information into graphs and documents.
- Cleans and maintains lab equipment.
- Uses testing items and subjects to gather results.
- Works collaboratively with the lab team to ensure efficient operations.
- Processes samples, classifies results, and records findings.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability desired.
Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision. Must be willing to develop other team members skill levels.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sorts, labels, and logs specimens and performs testing procedures in accordance with strict procedures. Sorts and logs specimens, centrifugation, blood separations, and culture materials. Performs venipuncture and skin puncture to collect specimens from patients. Performs testing such as separating and centrifuging specimens, adding reagents to specimens, staining slides, tissue cultures, and DNA probe assays. Transcribes and records test results. Operates sterilizing equipment to decontaminate glassware.
Associate's degree or other 2-year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years' experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and measure using the metric system
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems that may arise in certain situations
SAFETY:
Must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations while performing daily job tasks.
