What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Material Handler position at Quality Tool & Stamping?
The Shipping Material Handler supports our Shipping Department, and is a critical link in the chain of ensuring all products are delivered on time in support of our customers. The team is responsible for receiving inbound parts, maintaining finished goods inventory, and preparing and loading outbound products. You must work with other department's supervisors, managers, and customers to help achieve the common goal of maximizing production and delivery of quality parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Verify all materials are packaged and banded for transport
- Operate material handling equipment
- Inspects equipment and supplies
Qualification:

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of material handling experience
- Experience operating a forklift and/or material handling motorized vehicles and equipment
- Experience working within a manufacturing/production environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenances instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively with all departments in a shop floor environment.
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
