Job Type- Full time/ Direct hire
Location- Reno NV and Truckee CA (2 days/week in Truckee, remainder in Reno or 5 days in Truckee option possible)
Job Description:
Are you a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a passion for human resources and payroll administration? As our HR Manager, you'll be a key player in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions. This role demands accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Enter and process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal, federal, and state regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and manage payroll reports, including internal, federal, and state filings as well as ad hoc reports as needed.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending programs. Manage the uniform program organization.
- Employee Administration: Handle employee coordination and administration, including recruitment, retention, discipline, termination, and labor law compliance.
- Hiring/Firing and Recruitment: Lead efforts in hiring, firing, and recruitment processes to ensure the company attracts and retains top talent.
- Handbook Management: Prepare, update, and maintain the employee handbook, ensuring all policies are current and compliant with regulations.
- Company Policy Development: Develop and implement company policies that support organizational goals and comply with legal requirements.
- Employee Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees are integrated smoothly and effectively.
- Exit Interviews: Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
- Open Enrollment Process Management: Manage the open enrollment process for employee benefits, ensuring clear communication and efficient enrollment.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Bilingual: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in human resources.
- Certification: SHRM certification in California and Nevada or willingness to pursue certification once hired.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong letter writing skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations as applicable to a California corporation with approximately 155 employees. Knowledge of California and Nevada employment laws and regulations is essential.
