Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Technician to support and maintain automated systems, robotics, and machinery in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of automation systems, troubleshooting equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks. You will work closely with the Automation Engineer to implement and enhance automated solutions while adhering to company standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to explore and implement automated systems within the production environment.
- Assist in testing automation equipment and processes to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform daily maintenance of automated systems and robotics, ensuring smooth operation during production.
- Troubleshoot and repair automation systems and robotics, restoring them to full operational condition.
- Identify quality issues and document findings in detailed reports.
- Work on eliminating defects and errors in both product manufacturing and software development.
- Perform offline programming tasks using simulation software.
- Assist in the assembly of automated systems, including electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components. Must be able to read and understand relevant drawings and schematics.
- Provide training to production operators on the use of robots and automated systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on automation equipment, such as greasing robots, changing batteries, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in automation technology.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment, perform complex system tests, and address technical challenges.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to work with precision tools and machinery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the development and operations teams.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required; a technical degree or equivalent training is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or equivalent training.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, talk, and listen.
- Occasional need to stand, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
