What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Customer Service Representative position at Quanta US?

Seeking a friendly, energetic Import Customer Service for a new office in Norwalk (CT) who is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to manage import and customer service functions. The candidate will work in an open office environment and communicate with clients, carriers, brokers, and other team members by phone, fax, and email.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and other team members by phone, fax, and email
  • Resolving issues and setting appropriate expectations with customers
  • Making quick and effective decisions on behalf of the customer
  • Managing orders: orders entry and process
  • Constant review of orders required for immediate shipment and processing release
  • Follow up with the internal team on all required sales order credit hold releases for shipment
  • Identify backorders and assist with immediate fulfilment
  • Answer incoming calls, provide appropriate assistance
  • Effectively communicate with Internal support to ensure customers are appropriately handled
  • Oversees biweekly payroll with Paychex
  • Perform data entry and administrative duties such as invoicing, managing account receivable and maintaining files
  • You will be managing shipping documents, and documentation is a critical part of international logistics
  • Manages purchasing and receiving
  • Orders raw materials and other components
  • Keep current price list of purchased items
  • Support staff with information regarding material purchase status
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements/ Qualifications

  • Prior experience in transportation and logistics industry is not required but is beneficial
  • managing shipping documents, and documentation is a critical part of international logistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
  • Positive attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Great organizational, time management skills and multitask
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Data entry with high level of accuracy
  • Nice to have a second language (Spanish, Italian, …)

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
