JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Commonwealth Office of Technology, Northern Field Services Branch has an open position for a Desktop Support Technician. The position will be located in Frankfort, KY, and Initially the candidate will be installing computers in Franklin and surrounding counties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide desktop support and troubleshoot software issues to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving technical problems promptly.
- Utilize ServiceNow platform for ticket management and efficient workflow.
- Apply computer skills to assist in network configurations and IT infrastructure maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality communication solutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 1-3 years of IT experience as a Desktop Support technician with experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware and software systems, providing general desktop support duties with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Well-versed in computer systems and be able to set up hardware, install and configure software and drivers.
- Reliable attendance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Computer equipment configuration, setup, and installation.
- Experience in ticketing software (preferably ServiceNow).
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Hardware and software experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
