POSITION SUMMARY:
The App Specialist reports to the CIO and is a key member of the Information Technology Team. This role is responsible for managing, configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing business applications, while also assisting with light software development, automation, and system integration to improve operational efficiency. The App Specialist will work closely with internal teams to ensure that applications meet business needs, security standards, and performance expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the CIO, the individual will be responsible for:
- Application Management & Support:
- Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise applications ad software solutions used by Quapaw Nation.
- Provide technical support for application-related issues, troubleshooting software and user access problems.
- Train employees on proper application usage and document best practices.
- Monitor application performance and work with vendors or developers to resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and data privacy regulations within all applications.
- Evaluate new applications and recommend software solutions to meet business needs.
Software Development & Automation:
- Develop and moodily code using platforms like Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
- Write scripts and automation tolls using PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript to enhance workflows and reduce manual processes.
- Integrate applications using APIs and web services to connect enterprise software systems.
- Assist in front-end and back-end development for internal business applications.
- Collaborate with the IT team and Stakeholders to define application requirements and enhancements.
System Integration & Optimization:
- Ensure seamless integration between Microsoft 365, databases, ERP systems, and third-party applications.
- Analyze business processes and suggest improvements through software automation and application enhancements.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing downtime.
- Maintain accurate application documentation, including system configurations and change logs.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Occasionally work evenings and weekends for project deadlines or system updates.
- Travel may be required for training, vendor collaboration, or IT-related conferences
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSING, & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field ( or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in application administration, support, or light software development.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar automation tools preferred.
- Basic development experience with SQL databases, APIs, or scripting languages is a plus.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- The incumbent must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds without discomfort.
- Mush have excellent eyesight (with or without vision correction).
- Frequently required to use hands, fingers, and arms for typing, troubleshooting, and software configuration tasks.
- The work environment is typically low to moderate in noise level.

The work is performed in an office environment with no disagreeable conditions. Candidate must be able to work in a diverse cultural setting due to the sensitive nature of the position.
